EU July, August PVC imports rise, exports drop- Eurostat

LONDON (ICIS)--Imports of polyvinyl chloride (in primary form) into the EU from the rest of the world increased in July and August compared with the same months in 2012, while exports from the EU dropped over the same period, according to data from the European statistics agency Eurostat on Monday.

From July 2012 to July 2013, imports jumped by 74.42%, while year-on year volumes to August 2013 rose by 28.88%.

In July 2013, exports dropped by around 20.70% year on year, while from August 2012 to August 2013, exports declined by 11.35%.

Eurostat import/export data are subject to revision as more detailed information becomes available.
