HOUSTON ((ICIS)--OCI has begun restarting its Texas methanol unit again after another short outage on 15 October, the company said in a state filing obtained on Monday.

The company reported last week that the methanol unit at the Beaumont site had to be shut down on 15 October because of a water pump failure. It was the second restart of the plant this month, following a minor outage.

The latest restart of the unit began on 20 October, according to the latest  filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

The filing stated that there were some small emissions less than 100 lbs (45 kg)  of carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide and volatile organic compounds that were considered routine in the start-up process.
