LONDON (ICIS)--Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) imports into the EU from the rest of the world were up by 32% year on year in July, and by 8% in August, data from European statistics agency Eurostat showed this week.
July 2013 imports amounted to 2,164 tonnes, compared with 1,643 tonnes in the same month last year, while August 2013’s import figure was 1,696 tonnes, compared with 1,576 tonnes in August 2012.
Exports from the EU were down year on year in both July and August, by 46% and 63%, respectively.
July exports were 416 tonnes, compared with 767 tonnes in July 2012, while August exports amounted to 345 tonnes, a fall from 940 tonnes in the same month last year.
