SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Meilan Chemical plans to restart its 255,000 tonne/year caustic soda plant at Taizhou in Jiangsu province on 28 October, a company source said on Thursday.

The company shut the plant on 23 October for 5 days of maintenance, the source added.

The turnaround will result in a reduction in supply of liquid caustic soda and chlorine, and may lead to a rise in caustic soda prices, according to a local market player.
