TOKYO (ICIS)--Japanese chemical producer Mitsubishi Plastics has completed construction of its 22,500 tonne/year polyester film plant at Suzhou in Jiangsu province, China, the company said on Thursday.

The plant is Mitsubishi Plastics’ fifth polyester film production base, the company said in a statement.

The company has polyester film plants in Shiga, Japan, the US, Germany and Indonesia, according to Mitsubishi Plastics.

The producer plans to build a second 22,500 tonne/year polyester film line at the Suzhou site by April 2015, it previously said.

Both plants will be operated by Mitsubishi Polyester Film Suzhou, a company Mitsubishi Plastics subsidiary established in 2011 amid increasing demand for flat panel display (FPD) panels.
