SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Maoming Petro-Chemical Shihua is planning to build a 80,000 tonne/year isobutylene unit at Maoming in Guangdong province to feed its methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) plant at the same site, the company said on Friday.
The unit, which needs an investment of approximately yuan (CNY) 63.7m ($10.5m), will convert n-butylene contained in C4 into isobutylene, it said.
The company did not reveal the timeline of the plants construction.
