SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yangnong Chemical plans to shut its 220,000 dry metric tonne (dmt)/year caustic soda plant at Yizheng in Jiangsu on 1 November for eight days of maintenance, a company source said on Friday.
Ahead of the shutdown the company has started reducing its output gradually from 24 October, the source said.
The turnaround may cause substantial supply reduction in the local liquid soda market, according to local market players.
According to Chemease assessment, liquid soda deal price in Jiangsu rose to CNY670-690/tonne ($110-113/tonne) on 25 Ocotber EXW (ex-works) from CNY 650-680/tonne EXW.
