SNF plans polyacrylamide production in Russia in 2016

MOSCOW (ICIS)--SNF France aims to start polyacrylamide production at the premises of Saratovorgsintez's central Russia chemical plant in 2016, the country's authorities said on Monday. 

SNF is due to start construction work on the new facilty in 2014, the regional government of Saratov region said in a statement. The  unit is expected to start producing polyacrylamide in 2016 and reach its full 40,000 tonnes/year capacity in 2017, it said.

The statement was released following talks between representatives of the regional government and SNF.

Based in the Saratov region, central Russia, Saratovorgsintez produces acrylic fibre, methyl methacrylate (MMA), hydrogen cyanide (HCN) and acetone cyanohydrin.
