HOUSTON (ICIS)--US diammonium phosphate (DAP) exports in August 2013 were up almost 29% from the same month a year earlier, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Monday.
US DAP exports increased to 321,315 tonnes in August from 249,651 tonnes in August 2012. Exports were up in August mainly because of increased demand from Canada.
August exports were up from 281,753 tonnes in July 2013.
India at 102,673 tonnes was the major destination of US DAP exports, followed by Canada at 39,288 and Brazil at 36,402.
Other destinations included Argentina, Peru and Honduras.
