SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hengli Petrochemical expects to shut its 2.2m tonne/year No 2 purified terephthalic acid (PTA) unit at Dalian in Liaoning province for maintenance from 1 November, a company source said on Tuesday.
The unit will be taken off line for around 10 days, the source said.
“Demand has weakened and the margins of PTA are poor,” the source said.Hengli Petrochemical’s other 2.2m tonne/year No 1 PTA plant at the site will continue operating at full capacity during the shutdown of the No 2 unit, the source said.
