LONDON (ICIS)--Spolchemie has appointed Omya de Mexico as its exclusive distributor of epoxy and alkyd products for the Mexican market, the Czech company said on Friday.
“We expect that Omya de Mexico will help grow our already strong market position in Mexico,” said Jan Kricka, sales director for Spolek, the parent company of resins, epichlorohydrin (ECH), perchloroethylene producer Spolchemie.
“We are very excited to expand our relationship with Spolchemie. Our experience with Spolchemie here in the US has been excellent and we look forward to working with them to grow their market position in Mexico,” said Tony Colak, CEO for Omya Region Americas.
Omya is a worldwide distributor of specialty chemical products focused on industrial and life science applications and a producer of industrial minerals, mainly fillers and pigments derived from calcium carbonate and dolomite.
Spolchemie runs epoxy resins and ECH units in Usti nad Labem, in the northern Czech Republic, with capacities of 60,000 tonnes/year and 26,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS data.
