SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhongyuan Petrochemical, a Sinopec subsidiary, has lowered the operating rate at its 260,000 tonne/year linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) unit in Henan province to 50% on 4 November, a source close to the company said on Monday.
The run rate, which was previously at full capacity, was cut because of a mechanical issue at the unit, the source added.
The source did not provide further details about the issue and when the run rate at the unit would be increased again.
The company also has a 60,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant and a 100,000 tonne/year PP plant at the same site, which are operating at full rate.
