SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan's Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) expects to ramp up the operating rate at its 1.03m tonne/year naphtha cracker in Mailiao to full production from 90% capacity by mid-week, a company source said on Monday.

The producer attained on-spec production at its No 2 cracker on 1 November, a day after the facility resumed operations, the source said.

The unit was shut for more than six weeks of turnaround.

FPCC runs two other crackers in Mailiao — a No 1 cracker that can produce around 700,000 tonnes/year of ethylene and a No 3 cracker with a nameplate ethylene capacity of 1.2m tonnes/year.
