HOUSTON (ICIS)--Initial US October styrene contract settlements have emerged at declines of 1.75-2.50 cents/lb ($39-55/tonne, €29-41/tonne), trade sources said on Monday, following the recent decline in feedstock benzene prices.
The October styrene contract settlements come following last week’s 27 cent/gal drop in the feedstock November benzene contract.
North American styrene suppliers did not issue any October styrene contract price increases because of the weak benzene market.
September styrene contract prices were at 80.25-84.25 cents/lb FOB (free on board), according to ICIS.
Additional October styrene contract settlements are expected later this week.
