MELBOURNE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Kumho P&B Chemicals on 4 November restarted its 55,000 tonne/year methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) plant in Yeosu after completing a scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.

The company is running the plant at about 70% of capacity, with no immediate plans to further increase the operating rate, the source said.

The plant was taken off line on 10 October, along with the producer’s No 2 and No 3 phenol/acetone plants at the same site.
