China’s Huachang Chemical starts up nitric acid, fertilizer plants

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jiangsu Huachang Chemical has successfully started up its new nitric acid plant in Zhangjiagang and its fertilizer plant in Huaian, the company said on Tuesday.

The nitric acid plant that has a 150,000 tonne/year capacity and the fertilizer plant that has a 600,000 tonne/year capacity are located in Jiangsu province, the company said, without specifying the plants' exact start-up date.

The fertilizer plant has three units, each with a 200,000 tonne/year capacity.

The nitric acid plant and one of the three units of the fertilizer plant have achieved on-spec products, Jiangsu Huachang Chemical said.

The company mainly produces fertilizers and fine chemicals.
