LONDON (ICIS)--European polyacetal (POM) Q4 contract prices have settled on Tuesday at a rollover from the third quarter on broadly stable demand.
The quarterly contract price of feedstock methanol has seen a €38/tonne increase since the start of the year. However, competition from lower-priced POM from ?xml:namespace>
While one producer is still negotiating its Q4 contracts and targeting a price rollover, most other market participants have finalised their discussions.
Some buyers attempted to negotiate for price decreases of €0.05-0.10/kg, but these largely failed as producers held steady to limit the erosion on their margins.
