SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yancon Cathay Coal Chemicals has restarted its 135,000 tonne/year n-butanol (NBA) unit at Tengzhou in Shandong province on 6 November following the completion of maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.
The company expects to achieve on-spec products tomorrow, the company source added.
The shutdown started on 1 October, which was the beginning of the week-long National Day holidays.
The restart at the plant will increase the domestic NBA supply and prices are likely to decline as the demand from end-users remains weak, a market player said.
The domestic NBA prices were assessed at yuan (CNY) 8,350-8,400/tonne ($1,369-1,377/tonne) ex-tank east China on 5 November, down by CNY100/tonne compared with CNY 8,450-8,500/tonne ex-tank east China on 1 November, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
