SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhejiang Wankai New Materials Co restarted its 250,000 tonne/year polyethylene terephthalate (PET) line that uses solid state polycondensation (SSP) technology in Zhejiang province on 9-10 November as planned, a company source said on Monday.
The SSP line, which produces bottle-grade PET chips, was shut at the beginning of November because of weak demand and declining prices, the source added.
Its PET line that uses continuous polymerisation remains in operations and has been producing bright fibre-grade PET chips during the shutdown of the SSP line, according to the source.
