MELBOURNE (ICIS)--Taiwan's Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corp (FCFC) plans to shut its phenol/acetone plant in Mailiao in the first half of 2014 for regular maintenance, a source close to the company said on Thursday.

The plant, which comprises two lines with a combined 400,000 tonne/year phenol capacity and 250,000 tonne/year acetone capacity, is expected to undergo overhaul lasting four to six weeks.

However, the exact schedule has not been finalised, the source said.

The plant is currently running at full capacity, the source added.
