SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zibo Qixiang Tengda Chemical plans to start up its 100,000 tonne/year maleic anhydride (MA) unit at Zibo in Shandong province in December, a company source said on Friday.
The company is currently undertaking trial runs at the new MA unit, and the exact start-up date will depend on trial run situation, the source added.
The construction of the unit started in late December 2012, the source said.
MA is mainly used in manufacturing unsaturated polyester resins (UPR), fumaric acid, lubricant additives, agricultural chemicals and coatings.
