European RME RED premiums soften as supply edges out demand

LONDON (ICIS)--European Renewable Energy Directive (RED) certified rapeseed methyl ester (RME) premiums softened by $5-10/tonne on healthy supply, a source said late on Thursday.

RME RED premiums over ICE gasoil were assessed lower at $280-285/tonne (€207-211/tonne) FOB (free on board) NWE (northwest Europe).

“Demand is still pretty good but supply is healthier. Margins for RME improved so people had been producing more, but they are less attractive now,” the source said.
