HOUSTON (ICIS)--Strata Minerals has appointed Jason Bahnsen as president and CEO, the Canadian phosphate exploration company announced on Friday.
Vancouver-based Strata said the selection of Bahnsen is in keeping with the company's transition to focus on more advanced stage phosphate rock assets. He most recently served as CEO of Gobi Coal, a private coal company based in Mongolia and was previously head of metals and mining in Asia for Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong.
Bahnsen has been a member of Strata's board of directors since November 2012. Strata's current president and CEO, Peter Kozicz, is relinquishing his management duties but will continue to serve on the board of directors.
“Strata is pleased to announce today's developments”, said Hugh Agro, Strata board chairman. “The appointment of Jason Bahnsen will mark a natural next step for the company's management as we transition to focus on more advanced staged assets.”
