SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Tangshan Zhonghao Chemical plans to start up its new 150,000 tonne/year adipic acid (ADA) unit in Hebei province in the first half of next year, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.
Construction work on the new unit in Tangshan city was completed on 16 November 2013, the source said.
The start-up may exert a downward pressure on the Chinese market, given a supply glut and weak demand, market sources said.
Major ADA producers in China include Shandong Haili Chemical, Liaoyang Petrochemical and Shandong Hongye Chemical Group Co.
