SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Kukdo Chemical (Kunshan) has been conducting trial runs at its new 100,000 tonne/year epoxy resins unit in China since 5 November, a company source said on Wednesday.
The plant – which can produce 65,000 tonnes/year of liquid epoxy resins (LER) and 35,000 tonnes/year of specialty epoxy resins – is currently running at less than half its capacity, the source said.
Run rates would be adjusted according to market conditions when it goes into actual production in January next year, the source said.
The new plant in Kunshan will boost the company’s overall epoxy resins capacity to 200,000 tonnes/year.
Kukdo Chemical (Kunshan) currently has a 60,000 tonne/year LER capacity and a 40,000 tonne specialty epoxy resins capacity at the site.
The company is a subsidiary of South Korea’s Kukdo Chemical.
