LONDON (ICIS)--Methyl acrylate (methyl-A) spot prices in Europe have dropped by €50/tonne this week because of slow demand, sources said on Wednesday.

Prices are at €1,370-1,390/tonne ($1,851-1,878/tonne) FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe).

Methyl-A spot prices have been on a downtrend this year on lacklustre demand. Prices at the beginning of 2013 averaged at €1,570/tonne FD NWE.

Methyl-A is used to produce fibres that are woven to make carpets
