DUBAI (ICIS)--Linde will build the world’s largest carbon dioxide (CO2) purification and liquefaction plant for a SABIC subsidiary in Jubail Industrial City in Saudi Arabia, a spokesperson of the German industrial gases and engineering specialist firm said on Wednesday.

The plant is being built for Jubail United Petrochemical Co (JUPC), a SABIC subsidiary, the Linde spokesperson told ICIS on the sidelines of the 8th annual Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals (GPCA) Forum in Dubai.

The purified CO2 will be supplied by pipeline to SABIC companies for the production of methanol and urea. The plant will also manufacture 200 tonnes/day of food-grade liquid CO2.

Further details about the plant were not immediately available.
