US ethanol supplies decline on decrease in production

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethanol inventories were weaker for the week ending 15 November, as production decreased by 2.5%, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.

There were no ethanol imports last week, the EIA said.

Last week’s drop in production was likely the result of the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) decision to scale back the amount of renewable fuels, including ethanol, required to be blended into gasoline, sources said.
