SINGAPORE (ICIS)--PT Amoco Mitsui Indonesia (AMI) has declared a force majeure (FM) on purified terephthalic acid (PTA) supply mid-week because of the extended shutdown of its plant, a source close to the company said on Friday.
The company shut its 460,000 tonne/year PTA unit in Merak on 15 November for three-day brief maintenance, the source said.
It is unclear when the plant could be restarted so far, the source said.
AMI is a joint venture between UK-based BP and Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals.
