SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s TSRC-UBE (Nantong) Chemical Industrial plans to shut down its 72,000 tonne/year butadiene rubber (BR) plant in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on 24 November, a company source said on Friday.

“We plan to shut down the plant for about a month because of weak market conditions, the plant will be restarted in the middle of December,” the source added.

TSRC-UBE (Nantong), a major BR producer in Jiangsu province, is a joint venture between Taiwan Synthetic Rubber Corp (TSRC), which owns a 55% stake in the company, and Japanese firms Ube Industries and Marubeni, which hold a 25% and 20% share respectively.
