China October PE, PP imports fall 18% on month; down 3% on year

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China imported 1.04m tonnes of combined polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) in October, representing an 18.2% decline from the previous month, official data showed on Friday.

On a year-on-year basis, the country took in 3.2% less PP and PE volumes in October, according to China Customs data.

PP imports in October stood at 373,800 tonnes, down by 17.5% month on month and 12.5% lower year on year.

PE imports totalled 661,900 tonnes, down by 18.6% from September but up by 3% from the same period last year.
