SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shanghai Golden Phillips Petrochemical plans to shut its 135,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene (HDPE) plant in Shanghai on 25 November evening because of a shortage in feedstock ethylene, a company source said on Monday.

The shutdown of the HDPE plant is estimated to last for five days, the source added.

Local distributors said that the plant’s turnaround will not affect the domestic HDPE market as its capacity is small.
