LONDON (ICIS)--EU ethylene imports from the rest of the world were slightly higher in September compared with the same month last year but exports were down by almost half, according to Eurostat data released on Monday.

Imports were up by 2.07% year on year in September, but exports were down by 46.78%.

This cut in exports could be attributed to a lack of a workable arbitrage and the onset of the autumn cracker maintenance season which would have helped to curtail merchant availability.
