HOUSTON (ICIS)--Two distributors have announced price increases for US Gulf (USG) toluene and xylene, both on a DEL (delivered) basis, effective 1 December due to higher barge prices, market sources said on Tuesday.
One distributor has announced a 4 cents/lb ($88/tonne €65/tonne) increase for toluene and 2 cents/lb for xylene, with the possibility of more adjustments on 3 December if necessary, market sources said.
Another distributor, also citing higher distribution costs tied to the more costly barge transportation, has announced a 3 cents/lb increase for toluene and 1 cent/lb for the xylene, also effective 1 December, according to market sources.
Current spot prices as assessed by ICIS for toluene DEL USG are at 54.75-57.00 cents/lb, while xylene prices are assessed at 57.50-60.00 cents/lb.
