HOUSTON (ICIS)--US October daily production of butadiene (BD) from crackers increased by 0.8% month over month, according to data made available on Tuesday from consulting firm Jacobs Consultancy.

US daily October BD production from crackers was about 8.16m lb/day (3,701 tonnes/day), up from the September level of approximately 8.10m lb/day, the report said.

Coupled with an extra day in October, total BD produced from steam crackers was 4.2% higher, up to about 253m lb from about 243m lb, the report said.

US steam cracker operating rates increased in October to 92.8% from 92.1%, leading to higher BD production.

The US cracker feedslate also shifted heavier by 0.9%, the report said, mostly on higher usage for gas oil and naphtha.

However, butane usage as a feedstock dropped to 4.4% of the feedslate in October from 5.2% in September.
