SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Ming Dih Group plans to expand its expandable polystyrene (EPS) plant in Bangkok, Thailand, in the third quarter of 2014, a company source said on Thursday.

The expansion next year will lift the plant’s capacity by 10,000 tonnes/year to 50,000 tonnes/year.

The 40,000 tonne/year facility underwent an expansion of 10,000 tonnes/year in March this year.

“The additional requirement for feedstock styrene monomer (SM) will be sourced locally,” the source added.

The company operates another 180,000 tonne/year EPS unit in Taiwan and a 100,000 tonne/year unit in China.
