LONDON (ICIS)--Spot prices in the European 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA) market have decreased by €60/tonne in the past two weeks, as demand has softened and traders look to empty their tanks ahead of year-end, sources said on Wednesday.
Prices are at €1,570-1,600/tonne ($2,122-2,162/tonne) FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe).
Spot prices are at the lowest level seen this year, with values gradually declining since the end of August. 2-EHA is used in paints and adhesives, and the peak coatings season typically runs from April to September.
Players typically seek to destock towards the end of the year to lower working capital.
