LONDON (ICIS)--French building materials and glass major Saint-Gobain on Wednesday said it has acquired Germany-based polymer components producer LS Kunststofftechnologie for an undisclosed sum.

LS Kunststofftechnologie is focussed on high-performance polymer components for the automotive, medical and industrial markets. It is headquartered near Frankfurt and has two production sites in Germany, employing more than 220 people.

Saint-Gobain said that it would integrate LS into its US-headquartered performance plastics business.

“This acquisition is a perfect fit with [Saint-Gobain’s] strategy of strengthening its positions in high-performance and co-developed solutions,” it added.

Saint-Gobain's performance plastics business produces films, foams, coated fabrics, bearings, seals and fluid systems, among other products.
