India’s RIL to start up new SBR plant in Hazira in Q2 2014

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--India’s Reliance Industries (RIL) plans to start up its new 150,000 tonne/year styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) plant in Hazira, Gujarat, in the second quarter of 2014, market sources said on Thursday.

RIL’s new SBR plant will be the second SBR plant to start up  in India.

On 29 November, Indian Synthetic Rubber Ltd (ISRL) inaugurated its new 120,000 tonne/year SBR plant at Panipat, the first SBR plant in India.
