New York (ICIS)—Repsol’s cracker at Tarragona in Spain is scheduled to have its first feed intake on 15 December, a source close to the company said on Thursday.
The cracker, which has the capacity to produce 702,000 tonnes of ethylene, has been offline since 1 October. Restart following the scheduled maintenance was originally planned for around 25 November, but technical problems have since delayed the restart process.
A company source said earlier this week that it could be a couple of weeks before the cracker was back online.
The downstream polyethylene units at Tarragona have recently come back on line following a maintenance shutdown.
