LONDON (ICIS)--Europe December methyl methacrylate (MMA) contract prices have rolled over and decreased slightly from the previous month, amid lower seasonal demand and higher feedstock costs, buyers and sellers said on Friday.

December MMA contract prices are at €1,780-1,830/tonne ($2,438-2,507/tonne) FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe), and the range is €10/tonne lower on the high end.

Upstream acetone and propylene contract prices in December rose by €16/tonne and €30/tonne respectively.

“We've settled with a rollover to a very small decrease, [the decrease was] limited by the increase in feedstock acetone and propylene,” a producer said.

“Demand is not very strong,” a buyer said. “But raw materials are a bit of an issue.”

Another buyer said its demand was quite good for December.

The MMA market is balanced and demand is stable to soft. January demand is likely to pick up as players are expected to restock after the holiday period.

Fourth-quarter MMA contract prices settled at €1,780-1,830/tonne FD NWE.
