HOUSTON (ICIS)--In an announcement on Friday, Eastman Chemical stated that it is seeking price increases for plasticizers in North America and Latin America, effective on 1 January or as contracts allow.
Eastman wants a rise of 5 cents/lb ($110/tonne, €80/tonne) for all grades of dioctyl phthalate (DOP), dioctyl adipate (DOA), trioctyl trimellitate (TOTM) and the non-phthalate plasticizer 2-ethylhexyl terephthalate.
Eastman Chemical has proposed price increases on upstream feedstocks oxo-alcohols and glycol ethers this week, citing increased market demand, operating costs and raw materials as the reasons behind the price hikes.
