Japan’s Showa Denko to shut VAM plant for maintenance in March '14

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Showa Denko plans to shut its vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) production facility mid-March 2014 for regular maintenance, a source said on Friday.

The VAM facility in Oita prefecture has a nameplate capacity of 175,000 tonnes/year.

The plant will be offline for 35-40 days for a routine maintenance, according to the company source.
