Dutch Vopak to expand crude storage capacity in UAE

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Vopak is expanding its crude oil storage capacity at Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 478,000 cubic metres (cbm), the Dutch logistics firm said on Monday.

The expansion project, which will boost the storage capacity of Vopak Horizon Fujairah to over 2.6m cbm, includes a connection to the new very large crude carrier (VLCC) jetty in the Port of Fujairah, the construction of five storage tanks for crude oil and a manifold, the company said in a statement.

The expansion project and jetty connections are expected to be commissioned in the second half of 2016, it added.

Financial details of the project were not disclosed.
