LONDON (ICIS)--Repsol has restarted its cracker at Tarragona in Spain but production is not currently on spec, a source close to the company said on Monday.
The source said that the cracker was restarted last week but that they were “still working to get product on specs” as some technical issues had been encountered.
The source added that the company was working hard to get the issues resolved as soon as possible – possibly within the next couple of days.
The cracker, which has the capacity to produce 702,000 tonnes/year of ethylene, had been on planned maintenance since early October. Restart was anticipated around 25 November but a series of issues had delayed restart until now.
