France 2013 new-car registrations down 5.0% year on year: group

LONDON (ICIS)--France’s new-car registrations fell 5.0% to 1,790,473 in 2013, after adjusting for working days, according to data released on Thursday by the country’s car manufacturers’ association.

Full-year 2013 new diesel-car registrations fell 13.3% year over year to 1,199,687, the Comite des Constructeurs Francais d’Automobiles (CCFA) said.

For December, new-car registration rose 4.2% to 175,336 from December 2012. However, December diesel car registration fell 2.1% to 112,087, the group said.
