SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Xinfa Group expects to bring on stream its new 300,000 tonne/year caustic soda unit in Shanxi province in the middle of 2014, a source close to the company said on Friday.
The company is currently building the new caustic soda unit, the source added, without specifying a timeline and providing financial details.
The caustic soda output from the new unit will be supplied to the company’s two downstream aluminium oxide units in Shanxi province, with capacities of 2.4m tonnes/year and 1.6m tonnes/year respectively, the source said.
Xinfa Group, which has other subsidiaries in Shandong and Guangxi province, is the biggest aluminium oxide producer in China.
