The €35/tonne increase was in line with the January barge contract, which was settled last week at €1,410/tonne on a free on board (FOB) Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) basis.
Europe has been the highest-priced region for styrene since late December, with spot numbers supported over the holiday season by some pressure on prompt availability, healthy feedstock values and strong forward sentiment in Asia in light of the upcoming turnaround season.
January spot values were at $1,710-1,720/tonne FOB Rotterdam while February was in contango at $1,715-1,735/tonne.
The styrene CRP was agreed on a free carrier (FCA) Rotterdam basis.
