HOUSTON (ICIS)--Chevron Phillips Chemical shut down its Port Arthur cracker in Texas on 7 January because of a loss of steam from a third-party provider, a company spokesperson confirmed on Thursday.

No timetable was given for the restart of the 803,000 tonne/year ethylene unit by company sources or in a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
