HOUSTON (ICIS)--DuPont has named its executive vice president Mark Vergnano as CEO of the new, independent Performance Chemicals company, the US-based major said on Thursday.
Performance Chemicals will separate from DuPont in Q2 2015 and will operate as an independent, publicly traded company.
BC Chong will continue to lead the Titanium Technologies business and Thierry Vanlancker the Chemicals & Fluoroproducts business, both of which will be within Performance Chemicals.
Vergnano has overseen the Performance Chemicals business for DuPont since 2009.
DuPont announced in October that it would spin-off the Performance Chemicals segment to shareholders.
The Performance Chemicals segment had 2012 revenue of $7bn.
The segment produces titanium dioxide (TiO2) and fluoropolymers, which include the company's well-known Teflon brand.
